Christmas shopping….do you love it or loathe it? I love having the time to browse shops in search of the ideal gift for someone special. Sadly, where I live there is a severe shortage of the lovely independent shops that I can while away a few hours in, instead my town centre is full of the standard high street stores, which do have their benefits but since starting my own business, I have come to realise the importance of shopping small and showing support for independents. So with a lack of choice on my doorstep, this year it’s been great to do much of my shopping online supporting small brands, and I thought that I would share some of the treasures I have found.

Three Bears Yarn, is a supplier with great integrity and high ethical standards. All their products are produced here in the UK, where they collaborate with other great textile manufacturers, ensuring that the skills we have developed through the generations are kept alive and built upon. They work with UK spinners, English Fine Cottons, to produce some if the highest quality yarns that can be found. All yarns are dyed at their own Lancashire dye house.
So today is Earth Day, a day when 192 countries join together to educate and activate environmental movement worldwide. It aims to encourage us to be more environmentally friendly, whether this be by recycling, growing our own produce, going paperless, planting trees and so on. As a parent in this world, I feel that it is my/our job to help educate our children as to the importance of caring for our planet. I try where and when I can to provide examples to them of how as a family we can be more environmentally friendly. We recycle everything we can,...
